SPARK Slim: TECNO’s Thinnest Phone, Packs a 5160mAh Powerhouse

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

TECNO has launched the SPARK Slim in Kenya, claiming the title of the world’s thinnest curved-screen smartphone at just 5.93mm. The move shows the brand’s ambition to lead in design innovation without compromising durability or performance. A tension that has defined the modern smartphone market.

TECNO SPARK Slim

Despite its slender frame, the SPARK Slim houses a 5160mAh battery, a rare feat in devices this thin. TECNO attributes the breakthrough to its new “honeycomb space stacking” technique. It reconfigures internal components to save up to 12% of space. The result: a lightweight phone that promises nearly 25 hours of use, fast 45W charging, and even reverse power sharing.

The smartphone’s structure borrows from aerospace engineering. Its 0.36mm fiberglass back cover is both thinner and stronger than typical materials, while the screen is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 7i and rated IP64 for dust and splash resistance. Together, these details hint at TECNO’s effort to prove that sleek design can withstand daily wear and tear a challenge often faced by ultra-thin models.

Beyond Thin

Under the hood, the SPARK Slim runs on a MediaTek Helio G200 chipset, balancing performance and efficiency for everyday use. It also includes a vapor chamber cooling system and high-conductivity graphite layer to prevent overheating. A subtle nod to the growing user base of mobile gamers and content creators.

Visually, the SPARK Slim aims at Gen Z users who value personality as much as performance. It weighs only 156 grams and comes in Cool Black and Slim White finishes. An animated “Mood Light” feature on the back reacts to notifications, charging, and calls with expressive lighting patterns a small but clever attempt to merge functionality with fun.

TECNO also integrates its AI suite, offering tools for translation, document summary, and photo enhancement. The addition of “FreeLink” technology allows users to message and share content offline via Bluetooth, a useful touch in regions with inconsistent network access.

Retailing at KES 27,999 [exclusive of VAT], the SPARK Slim represents TECNO’s evolving strategy: design-led innovation grounded in practical performance.
