Airtel Money Kenya Limited, a prominent provider of mobile money services in Kenya, is set to adjust its per transaction limit to KES 250,000, a notable increase from the previous limit of KES 150,000 per transaction. This adjustment will take effect starting from September 1, 2023.
This alteration in the per transaction limit follows successful discussions with the Central Bank of Kenya [CBK] and is in response to the recent revision of daily transaction limits from KES 300,000 to KES 500,000.
Transaction fees within this range will remain consistent with those applied to transactions in the KES 70,001 – KES 150,000 range. With this elevated per transaction limit, Airtel Money customers will enjoy enhanced convenience, as they will no longer need to divide substantial transactions into multiple smaller ones.
Incorporating the transaction band of 150,001 – 250,000 without additional transaction charges is aligned with our commitment to empower customers with adaptable and personalized solutions, while delivering exceptional value for their money. Airtel Money Kenya’s Managing Director, Anne Kinuthia-Otieno, emphasized this commitment to convenience and affordability while revealing the updated per transaction limits.
This offering will be especially beneficial for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and individuals alike, enabling efficient payment to suppliers, staff, and seamless money transfers to others. Airtel’s steadfast dedication to affordability is reflected in its endeavor to provide unmatched value in transactions, alleviating concerns about costs. Moreover, Airtel remains unwavering in its pursuit of delivering unparalleled customer experiences through innovative solutions.
