Exclusive Networks Africa has partnered with Akamai Technologies to expand their presence in Africa. Stefan van de Giessen, Security & GSI Lead Africa at Exclusive Networks Africa, explained that they recently implemented a micro-segmentation strategy for an African telecommunications group, strengthening their collaboration with Akamai.
Van de Giessen noted that microsegmentation, a modern security practice, offers finer control than traditional network segmentation. It separates security controls from infrastructure, providing flexibility and visibility, crucial as more organizations adopt cloud services. This approach enables businesses to isolate applications and servers, limiting malware spread during attacks.
Additionally, microsegmentation is cost-effective and quicker to deploy compared to traditional firewalls, reducing both capital and operating expenses. Van de Giessen emphasized its growing importance for IT teams managing security in dynamic environments.
Hans Nipshagen, Regional VP of Channels and Alliances EMEA at Akamai, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, aiming to enhance cybersecurity for customers in African markets. For more information, visit Exclusive Networks Africa’s website or contact Dean Steenkamp, Vendor Alliance Manager.
