Equity Bank today announced a strategic partnership with American Express – AMEX and Majid Al Futtaim’s Carrefour. The partnership will give Kenyan consumers seamless access to secure, globally accepted AMEX card payments at Carrefour outlets nationwide.

The agreement was formally signed by Ms. Ngigi and Christophe Orcet, Regional Director for East Africa at Majid Al Futtaim, alongside Equity Bank’s Commercial Director, David Bagenda, and Rachid Nouri, Vice President of Finance, Carrefour Kenya.

- Financial Inclusion. The partnership broadens access to secure electronic payments for millions of Kenyans, supporting the nation’s cash-lite agenda.

The roll-out begins immediately at flagship Carrefour hypermarkets in Nairobi before expanding to all stores countrywide over the coming weeks. Eligible Equity Bank customers can apply for AMEX cards at any branch, with introductory offers that include loyalty rewards and exclusive in-store promotions.
