M-PESA Foundation and Zuri Health Team Up for Free Medical Consultation Service

The service will be accessible to patients served during the M-PESA Foundation free medical camps across the 47 counties.

Over 160,000 patients across the country are expected to benefit from a six-months free medical consultation SMS and WhatsApp service with certified doctors. This will be courtesy of M-PESA Foundation.

The free service will be made accessible to patients who attend the M-PESA Foundation funded free medical camps scheduled to take place on various dates across the country. The patients will be allowed to add up to three beneficiaries to the service.

The service will also offer personalised care to patients who are found to have chronic conditions during screening at the health camps.

“For the first time, we are incorporating technology in our free medical camps to provide patients with necessary follow-up care after the medical camps. We will also use the platforms to provide patients with health education and self-care tips to help them manage their health more effectively,” said Henry Kilonzo, Senior Manager, Foundations Programmes during a free medical camp held at Olympics Primary School in Kibra.

Patients will use a dedicated chatbot number and SMS shortcode to access all doctor services.

“Using the contact information collected during the camps, all patients will be on boarded on our services. Our care agents will follow up with patients to find out how they are fairing on and give them tips and guidance on how to manage their health,” said Sir Ikechukwu Anoke of Zuri Health

Last week, M-PESA Foundation announced a KES.46million investment towards free medical camps to be conducted across all the 47 counties. The first camp was held in Lamu.
