MoMo Rwanda Limited – MoMo Rwanda and Mastercard have introduced the Virtual Card by MoMo, a virtual payment solution enabling MoMo customers in Rwanda to make secure global e-commerce payments. This initiative supports MTN Group’s broader partnership with Mastercard to enhance digital payment accessibility across 13 African countries.
With the Virtual Card, MoMo users can shop and pay at any outlet accepting Mastercard, driving digital payments and supporting Rwanda’s cashless economy goals. The collaboration includes I&M Bank, which provides technical support and promotes financial inclusion.
Key features of the Virtual Card include:
- Direct linkage to the MTN MoMo account.
- PIN-based payment confirmation for secure transactions.
- Accessibility on all mobile phones.
- Easy setup via a simple USSD code.
Steps to create a Virtual Card:
- Dial 1822*6#.
- Enter your MoMo PIN.
- Select “Virtual Card by MoMo.”
- Choose “Create card.”
- Accept the Terms & Conditions.
Users will receive an SMS confirmation upon successful setup and can view card details using the same USSD code. The service is available to all MTN Rwanda customers.
