NCBA recently brought together private school owners in Ruaka for a forum themed “Future-Ready Schools: Embracing Sustainability & Innovation.” The event offered a platform to share ideas on strengthening school operations, diversifying income, and adopting sustainable business practices. A key focus was green financing, especially the NCBA H2O Loan – a Water and Sanitation Hygiene [WASH] funding product developed in partnership with Water.org.
This NCBA H2O Loan facility supports projects such as clean water systems, sanitation upgrades, and related infrastructure. Through the partnership, Water.org also offers technical assistance and, for willing partners, credit guarantees.
School owners also learned about practical solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability, including digital fee collection tools, school management systems, asset financing for buses and facilities, and insurance products for student and staff welfare.
Leaders from the Kiambaa Private Schools Association welcomed the opportunity, noting that access to targeted financial solutions like the H20 Loan will help institutions grow sustainably while improving learning environments.
