Samsung has introduced the One UI 6.1 update, extending Galaxy AI features to a broader range of devices, including the Galaxy S22 & S23 Series, Z Fold 4 & 5, Z Flip 4 & 5, and Tab S9 & S8 Series. This update, rolling out from late March, enhances the mobile AI experience by blending on-device and cloud-based AI, particularly aligning with the Galaxy S24 series.
Antony Hutia, Head of Samsung’s Mobile Division in East Africa, emphasized that Galaxy AI aims to democratize mobile AI, making it accessible globally, including Kenya. The goal is to reach over 100 million users by 2024 through ongoing innovation.
The update introduces communication features like Chat Assist for adjusting message tones and translating in 13 languages, Live Translate for real-time voice and text translations during calls, and Interpreter for live conversation translations.
Additionally, the update improves everyday tasks with features like Circle to Search with Google for intuitive searches, Note Assist and Browsing Assist for streamlined note-taking and article summarization, and Transcript Assist for meeting transcription and translation.
Galaxy AI also boosts creativity with Generative Edit for photo adjustments, Edit Suggestion for quick enhancements, and Instant Slow mo for dynamic slow-motion videos. Users can also personalize their devices with AI-generated wallpapers.
