Samsung is extending its One UI platform beyond smartphones and TVs to include home appliances, starting with 2024 models. This brings a consistent, easy-to-use interface across devices in the home.
As part of this rollout, Wi-Fi–enabled appliances launched in 2024 will receive software updates for up to seven years, with the first updates arriving in September.
What’s Coming in September
- Security Upgrades: Knox Matrix will extend to refrigerators, washers, dryers, air conditioners, induction ranges, and other connected products, helping devices monitor each other’s security. Screen-equipped models will gain advanced protections and a security dashboard for real-time monitoring.
- Smarter Features: Family Hub refrigerators will recognize more types of food with AI Vision Inside, and Bixby will add Voice ID and faster activation.
- Service Expansion: Samsung TV Plus will expand to more countries, and washing machines will support additional Indian languages.
- Refreshed Design: 2024 appliances will get an updated One UI look with simpler navigation and region-specific settings.
Why It Matters
By unifying its devices under One UI, Samsung aims to make it easier for people to manage and personalize their connected homes while ensuring long-term support and security.
