OPPO Kenya has introduced the OPPO A5. It is the newest phone in its A Series and the successor to the recent A5 Pro. It is an everyday communication, streaming, and outdoor use device.
For protection against the elements, the A5 carries an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance. Its chassis meets Military-Grade Shock Resistance standards and uses double-tempered glass to limit damage from drops or scratches.
Battery Life
A 6,000 mAh battery is rated to keep more than 80% of its original capacity after about 1,700 charge cycles. This is roughly five years of typical use. When power is low, 45 W SUPERVOOC flash charging shortens recharge times.
OPPO A5 runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 platform with up to 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. OPPO’s RAM Expansion feature can convert unused storage into virtual memory when many apps are open. A 1,000-nit display, optional 300 percent loudspeaker boost, and automatic switching between 4G and Wi-Fi support video, social media, and online gaming.
ColorOS 15
ColorOS 15 includes Google Gemini, an on-device AI assistant for quick replies, translation, and other tasks. The software also adds AI photography tools. They work with a 50 MP main camera, 2 MP depth sensor, and 5 MP front camera. Portrait mode and basic editing are available in the camera app.
The handset measures 7.99 mm thick, weighs 193 g, and comes in Aurora Green or Mist White. It is available now at OPPO stores across Kenya and through the OPPO Kenya website.
The OPPO A5 6 GB + 128 GB version is costs KES 21,999, while the 8 GB + 256 GB model is KES 25,999.
