Otermans Institute [OI] has officially opened applications for the OI Lead Initiative, a groundbreaking AI literacy programme dedicated to equipping underserved communities in Kenya with certified and accessible education in artificial intelligence.
This transformative programme is open exclusively to registered NGOs, charities, and community-based organisations [CBOs] operating in the education sector. Both Kenya-based and internationally affiliated organisations with local operations should apply.
Aligned with the vision of the Global AI Summit on Africa, the OI Lead Initiative is designed to help shift Africa’s position from passive consumer to active innovator in the AI landscape. By participating in this initiative, partner organisations will play a pivotal role in preparing young Kenyans to thrive in a technology-driven future.

- Scalable Access: Each approved organisation can enrol up to 5,000 learners.
- Compact Learning Format: The curriculum includes 10 hours of learning delivered across 9 interactive core lessons.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a registered NGO, charity, or CBO working in the education sector in Kenya.
- Have the capacity to recruit and support learners from underserved communities.
- Commit to facilitating learner access to basic internet-enabled devices to complete the online curriculum.
