Safaricom Powers Connected Africa Summit 2024

Safaricom today declared its support for the upcoming Connected Africa Summit 2024, taking place at Nairobi’s Uhuru Gardens from April 21st to 25th. The company is backing the event with a KES 20 million sponsorship and will provide services including Wi-Fi, network optimization, and various promotional activities.

Peter Ndegwa, the CEO of Safaricom, emphasized the importance of such events in fostering discussions and partnerships that advance Africa’s digital progress. He expressed pride in Safaricom’s role in promoting innovation and growth across the continent.

Furthermore, Safaricom plans to introduce the Connect Academy at the summit, an initiative aimed at training fiber optic technicians in Kenya, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing local expertise and innovation.
