Samsung’s 2025 AI TVs reflect a shift in the role of television. They’re no longer just entertainment devices; they’re becoming intelligent home interfaces. In this conversation, Sam Odhiambo explains how AI, connected ecosystems, and evolving consumer habits especially in markets like Kenya are shaping the next era of home living.

“Smart Living” is a phrase we hear often. What does it really mean for Samsung when we talk about television?
For us, Smart Living is about turning the TV into a screen that responds to the home around it. With our 2025 lineup running on Vision AI, the TV adjusts to light, sound, and daily routines. It’s less about adding features and more about creating a device that blends into how people actually live.
How exactly is Artificial Intelligence being used in these new TV models?
AI sits at the heart of the new range. The TVs use on-device neural networks to understand what you’re watching and the conditions in your room. That’s how features like Click to Search, Live Translate, and AI Upscaling Pro work. But the biggest shift is how the TV now connects with the broader SmartThings ecosystem. With Knox security built in, the AI experience becomes not only smarter but also safe.
SmartThings is becoming a big part of Samsung’s story. How does the TV serve as a hub for this ecosystem?
The newest TVs have SmartThings Hub support built in. That means the TV becomes the main control point for routines and connected devices. You can automate simple moments like your soundbar switching mode when a movie starts without adding extra hardware. The TV becomes the bridge between entertainment and the rest of the home.
Many consumers still worry about data privacy as devices become more connected. How are you addressing this?
Trust is key. Knox protection is integrated into the TVs, extending the same security layer used across Samsung devices. It ensures that as more activities move through the TV from streaming to smart-home controls your data stays protected. The idea is simple: the smarter the device, the stronger the security needs to be.
How does this technology fit into Kenyan homes and their entertainment habits?
Kenya is a connected market. People value entertainment, design, and seamless tech that doesn’t complicate life. Our Vision AI TVs fit into that space. They offer better picture and sound, easier device control, and a premium design that reflects how consumers here upgrade their homes. What we’re seeing is a move toward screens that play many roles, not just one.
What does the next phase of Smart Living look like for Samsung TV users?
We’re moving toward deeper, more natural integration. The screen will understand context what you watch, when you watch, and even how the room feels. It will coordinate with other devices, learn routines, and reduce the number of steps involved in everyday tasks. The goal is to give people more time back, whether it’s for family, entertainment, or simply living.
