Samsung Electronics has announced the appointment of Young Hyun Jun as the new global Head of the Device Solutions [DS] Division. His role will focus on driving the company’s semiconductor business and enhancing its competitive edge in the challenging global market. Jun brings a wealth of experience from his tenure in the semiconductor and battery sectors, having joined Samsung in 2000.
His career includes significant roles such as leading the development of Dynamic Random Access Memory [DRAM] and Flash memory, as well as strategic marketing initiatives. He ascended to head of the Memory Business in 2014 and served as CEO of Samsung SDI in 2017 before taking charge of the Future Business Division in 2024.
Meanwhile, President Kyehyun Kyung, the former head of the DS Division, will now lead the Future Business Division and the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology [SAIT]. Kyung is set to leverage his extensive semiconductor experience to explore new growth opportunities for Samsung.
