Vertiv has completed its acquisition of ThermoKey S.p.A. This move that deepens its position in one of the most important parts of the data center market: cooling.
The deal comes as AI is forcing data center operators to rethink how they manage heat. More powerful chips, denser racks and faster growth plans are making thermal management a core business issue, not just an engineering concern.

Why ThermoKey Cooling is Moving Up the Agenda
ThermoKey, founded in 1991 and based in Italy, makes heat rejection and heat-exchange technologies used by original equipment manufacturers and system integrators. Its products include heat exchangers, dry coolers and systems compatible with low-GWP and natural refrigerants.
For Vertiv, the acquisition adds more manufacturing depth and engineering capacity, especially across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It also gives the company more control across the full cooling chain, from heat capture to heat rejection.
Vertiv already uses some ThermoKey technologies in selected thermal solutions. Bringing the business in-house should help Vertiv offer more joined-up systems for customers building AI factories and high-density data centers.
What The Deal Means For Growth
Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, said customers are scaling AI infrastructure at a fast pace, making thermal performance key to capacity and efficiency. He said ThermoKey strengthens Vertiv’s ability to deliver integrated heat rejection solutions that help customers deploy faster and operate more efficiently.
ThermoKey’s Rivarotta, Italy operations will remain an important hub for manufacturing, engineering and customer support. Giuseppe Visentini, CEO of ThermoKey, will continue to lead the business, giving employees, partners and customers continuity after the transaction.
Visentini said joining Vertiv brings ThermoKey’s heat-exchange expertise into a broader thermal platform serving high-density data centers.
