VFS Global Highlights Sustainability in 5th Report

VFS Global, the world’s foremost provider of outsourcing and technology services for governments and diplomatic missions, recently released its fifth Integrated Sustainability Report on April 18, 2024. The report highlights significant advancements, including a 35% boost in the processing of visa applications and the addition of seven new global contracts, such as those with the UK Visa and Immigration and Australia’s Department of Home Affairs.

In 2023, the travel industry saw a robust recovery from the COVID-19 downturn, with the Middle East, EU, and Africa leading in performance. Kenya, for instance, saw a 31.5% increase in tourist arrivals from the previous year, almost reaching pre-pandemic levels with impressive tourism revenue gains.

The report adheres to the Global Reporting Initiative Standards and aligns with several UN sustainability initiatives, emphasizing VFS Global’s commitment to economic growth, good governance, employee welfare, environmental protection, and community support.

Zubin Karkaria, CEO of VFS Global, emphasized the company’s dedication to integrating sustainability in its operations and strategy, aiming to continually create value in a secure and sustainable way. Shireen Mistree, Head of ESG at VFS Global, noted that the report reflects the company’s effort toward a sustainable future, highlighting its positive ESG impacts.

Moreover, VFS Global’s operations have significantly contributed to job creation, employing over 10,000 people worldwide, with substantial employment across various global regions. The company has shown a year-on-year revenue growth of 25% from its customer contracts and achieved a 95% customer satisfaction rate, showcasing its strong governance through comprehensive data protection training for its entire workforce.
