Zoho One Update Blends Apps into Single, Connected Platform

Zoho Corporation has rolled out a major update to Zoho One, its integrated suite used by more than 75,000 organisations worldwide. The new release leans heavily into a trend shaping modern work: teams want connected systems, not a patchwork of apps. Zoho’s answer is a redesigned user experience that blends tools, data, and workflows into one environment.

Since Zoho One launched in 2017, customers have been using an average of 22 apps inside the suite. That level of adoption and the operational data flowing across them has pushed Zoho to rethink how users should interact with such a large system. “Work has shifted from using apps to operating within a unified platform,” said Veerakumar Natarajan, Country Head, Zoho Kenya. His comment signals a broader industry direction: software consolidation is accelerating, driven by rising security risks, data overload, and cost pressure.

A More Context-Driven Interface

The updated Zoho One interface groups tools by purpose rather than by product name. Employees navigate through Spaces, Personal, Organisation, and Department, cutting down the time lost switching interfaces. A universal search bar now spans all apps and workflows, reflecting a shift toward centralised discovery and action inside enterprise platforms.

User attention is also a battleground. The new Action Panel gathers meetings, messages, and tasks from across the suite into one view. A redesigned Dashboard pulls data from both Zoho and third-party tools, signalling that even “all-in-one” platforms must coexist with external systems.

One notable addition is Vani, a visual collaboration space that supports whiteboards, diagrams, mind maps, and video calls. It aligns with a broader move toward visual-first work, especially in distributed teams.

Security and Identity at the Core

The update strengthens the suite’s native integrations and identity controls. A central integrations panel gives administrators a single point to manage connections and detect anomalies faster. Smart Offboarding stands out: it automates device data management, account handover, and access rights, addressing a long-standing pain point in IT operations.

Zia, Zoho’s AI assistant, now works across the entire platform. It can pull data from Zoho apps and external ecosystems like Google Workspace, then deliver contextual insights rather than simple search results. Zia Hubs and Zia Search aim to reduce the time employees spend hunting for documents, conversations, and tasks.
