Vertiv, today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Great Lakes Data Racks & Cabinets family of companies [collectively “Great Lakes”] for $200 million.
Recognised for its innovative and highly customised data rack enclosures. Great Lakes designs and manufactures integrated infrastructure solutions that serve as foundational elements of modern data centres. The acquisition will expand Vertiv’s capabilities in delivering pre-engineered, AI-ready rack solutions across enterprise, edge, colocation, and hyperscale computing environments.
The purchase price represents approximately 11.5x expected 2026 EBITDA, inclusive of anticipated cost synergies and cross-selling opportunities.

Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. Great Lakes operates manufacturing and assembly facilities in both the U.S. and Europe. Its diverse product portfolio includes standard and custom racks, integrated and seismic cabinets, and advanced cable management solutions suitable for both retrofit and greenfield deployments.

Vertiv expects to close the transaction in the third quarter of 2025. This depends on customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976.
