Safaricom, through its youth platform Safaricom Hook Circle, recently hosted a masterclass at Ol’Lessos National Polytechnic in Eldoret. They reached over 600 young participants.
The bootcamp aimed to equip youth with practical skills and exposure in key areas. They include technology, career development, and culture. These are critical part of Safaricom’s broader mission to empower the next generation through innovation and connectivity.

Collaborative Efforts for Future-Ready Skills
The Hook Circle Rift Valley Edition was delivered in collaboration with Google Africa and the Safaricom Technology Team [Networks & Engineering Community]. Together, they facilitated mentorship sessions, technical demonstrations, and hands-on workshops aimed at equipping youth with future-ready skills, industry insight, and career guidance. The Safaricom Care team was also present, offering support and information on Safaricom Hook operations.
Participants earned certifications in Building & Civil Engineering and ICT, providing them with valuable credentials for the job market or further education.
Safaricom Hook Circle is a nationwide series of youth empowerment bootcamps. It connect young Kenyans to growth opportunities in tech, entrepreneurship, career pathways, and creative culture.
Since its launch in 2023, the programme has impacted over one million youth in counties including Meru, Mombasa, Nairobi, and Nyeri. Plans are underway to expand the initiative to all 47 counties in Kenya.
