Safaricom Distributes Business Boosts to MSMEs

Safaricom’s enterprise arm has announced the first 25 winners in its ongoing Shangwe @25 promotion. This is a Safaricom nationwide campaign aimed at supporting businesses of different sizes across Kenya.

The winners cut across micro, small, medium and large organisations. Ten MSMEs received a Bajaj tricycle each to support daily operations. Nine enterprises won business restock valued at KES 250,000 each. Six larger organisations were awarded KES 500,000 each to fund a corporate social responsibility [CSR] initiative of their choice.

Moringa School & Taifa Sacco Among First Winners

Sakifarm Limited, Millys the Redbeet Fresh Mat, Carrix Media Group Limited, Manjok Ltd, Douglas Onserio and Muriiri Girls Secondary School received tricycles. Taifa Sacco Limited, Federico Investments, Ronak Distributors and Golden Green Properties Ltd received business restock awards. Moringa School Limited, Vivo Activewear Ltd, the Kenya Human Rights Commission and GlovoApp Ltd received CSR grants.

Safaricom says it designed the promotion to recognise enterprise customers who use its services. The company randomly selects winners from businesses that buy, renew or reactivate Safaricom Business solutions, including voice, internet, cloud, IoT, cybersecurity and M-PESA for Business.

“These winners reflect the range of enterprises we work with every day,” said Frankline Okata, Acting Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Safaricom. “Our focus remains on providing practical tools that help businesses grow.”

Some beneficiaries report clear operational gains. Sakifarm, an avocado grower and exporter, uses several Safaricom Business solutions to manage communication and payments for more than 300 farmers during peak seasons. At Moringa School, the CSR support will expand access to digital skills training for young people.

The Shangwe @25 promotion runs for eight weeks, with winners announced weekly until 19th January, 2026. Safaricom expects more enterprises across the country to benefit as the campaign continues.
