Safaricom has reported a True Value of KES 1.1 trillion, according to its latest 2025 Sustainable Business Report. The company’s total contribution to Kenya’s GDP during the year stood at KES 809 billion.
The growth in True Value reflects increased benefits for customers, agents, and merchants through M-PESA, higher investment in community programs, and expanded economic impact through Safaricom’s capital and operational spending.
True Value measures a company’s full economic, social, and environmental impact beyond financial profit helping to track how business activities contribute to national development and sustainability.

“Over the past 25 years, Safaricom has evolved into a purpose-led technology company guided by one mission: to transform lives. Sustainability remains central to this mission,” said Dr. Peter Ndegwa, CEO, Safaricom PLC. “Now in our 14th year of reporting, we continue to align our impact with the Sustainable Development Goals.”
Themed “Anchored on Purpose, Accelerating a Digital Future,” this year’s report highlights Safaricom’s focus on connectivity, innovation, and inclusion covering achievements in environment, social impact, and governance.
