Samsung Leads for 7th Year with 1,040Hz & 6K Displays

Samsung has kept its spot as the world’s top gaming monitor brand for the seventh year in a row, extending a winning streak that began in 2019.

New figures from International Data Corporation show the company took 18.9% of the global gaming monitor market by revenue. It also led the OLED gaming monitor category for the third straight year, with a 26% share.

The numbers underline Samsung’s continued strength in a part of the display market where speed, picture quality and immersion matter most. Gaming monitors have become a key battleground as players demand better refresh rates, sharper visuals and more responsive screens for both casual and competitive play.

A Strong Grip On a Fast-Moving Market

Samsung said its edge comes from pushing new display technology while working closely with game developers and broadening support across platforms.

Hun Lee, executive vice president of Samsung’s Visual Display Business, said the company wants to stay ahead through innovation that makes a real difference to gamers. That includes improving performance, expanding its gaming library and building products that work across more titles and systems.

Esports star Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok of T1 added that small details can shape performance in gaming, and said Samsung’s long run at the top shows why many players continue to trust the brand.

New Gaming Monitor Odyssey Models Raise The Bar

Samsung recently used the Game Developers Conference 2026 in San Francisco to show off its latest Odyssey lineup, giving developers a look at several high-end features, including glasses-free 3D and HDR10+ GAMING.

The new range includes the 27-inch Odyssey 3D, which uses eye-tracking to create depth without glasses. Samsung says its Odyssey 3D Hub will support more than 120 compatible game titles this year.

Other launches include the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 with 4K QD-OLED and 240Hz, the 32-inch Odyssey G8, billed as the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor, and the 27-inch Odyssey G6, which Samsung says is the world’s first 1,040Hz gaming monitor.
