WildMango & OpenAI Partner to Scale AI Across Africa

WildMango has announced a partnership with OpenAI. They aim at widen access to advanced artificial intelligence tools for businesses, institutions, startups and developers across Africa.

The company said it is one of OpenAI’s first SMB Partners on the continent. This move could help more African organisations adopt AI tools suited to their operating needs, markets and customers.

Expanding Access To Practical AI Tools

Under the partnership, WildMango will support the distribution, integration and localisation of OpenAI’s products and services across African markets. The focus will be on helping enterprises, startups and public institutions use AI to improve productivity, decision-making and service delivery.

AI adoption is accelerating across Africa, driven by stronger digital infrastructure, a growing startup ecosystem, and rising interest from governments and businesses seeking more efficient ways to serve citizens and customers.

WildMango said the partnership will focus on four key areas: expanding access to OpenAI tools, adapting solutions to local use cases, supporting developers and policymakers with training, and building wider partnerships with corporates, startups and research institutions.

“Our partnership with OpenAI places Africa at the forefront of the global AI transformation. We want to make sure Africa is not left behind,” said Serah Katusya, Co-Founder of WildMango. “We are not just expanding access; we aim to shape how businesses, institutions and developers deploy and use AI in African contexts.”

Building Local Capacity For AI Adoption

The partnership also places emphasis on responsible AI deployment, including safety, inclusivity and long-term social benefit. For many African organisations, the challenge is no longer whether AI matters. But how to apply it in ways that solve real problems.

Ben Tyson, Senior Partner Enablement Manager at OpenAI, said the partnership would help companies, startups, developers and institutions use OpenAI’s models to improve growth, efficiency and impact.

He added that WildMango’s understanding of African markets and focus on long-term client success gave OpenAI confidence in the collaboration.
