Money20/20 has named Yellow Card a finalist in the Diamond category of the 2026 Money Awards, which it will host in Las Vegas this October. The Yellow Card Diamond nomination places the stablecoin infrastructure company alongside TerraPay, bKash and Wio Bank a diverse group spanning mobile money platforms and a licensed digital bank.
The recognition marks a step up from last year, when Yellow Card won the Grand Prix in the Payments category at the inaugural Money Awards. This year’s broader and more competitive category reflects the growth of the company’s ambitions.
What the Yellow Card Diamond Nomination Reflects
Its position alongside established mobile money and banking brands shows that the industry increasingly holds stablecoin infrastructure to the same standards as traditional financial services. Its not a separate, smaller category. Chris Maurice, Yellow Card’s co-founder and CEO, framed the moment as a shift in focus for the company. “We’ve moved past proving the value of stablecoins. The next chapter is about scale, making sure this technology is part of how businesses, banks, and financial institutions move money across global markets,” he said. The Yellow Card Diamond nomination, in that sense, reads as recognition of a maturing pitch rather than just another award entry.
The Year Behind this Recognition
The nomination caps a busy year for Yellow Card. It was named to Fortune’s inaugural Crypto Innovators list in June and later secured $40 million in strategic funding. That funding is going toward expansion into Latin America, Asia-Pacific and North America, alongside a newly regulated presence in Switzerland. None of that guarantees a win. The Yellow Card Diamond nomination is still just a finalist spot until judges decide otherwise on 18th October. Justin Poiroux, the company’s co-founder and CTO, pointed instead to the team work behind the scenes. “The best infrastructure is often the infrastructure you don’t have to think about” he said. He described years spent keeping cross-market money movement simple, reliable and secure. Whichever way the Diamond category result goes. The nomination marks a genuine milestone in how the company is now being measured.
